    We've Moved!
My new weblog is finally up. You can find me at www.jumpingmonkeys.com.

Come jump on the bed, my little monkeys. And tell your friends. The more monkeys, the better.

Thanks to everyone who has stayed tuned. My deepest apologies about not getting my moveable type blog up and running yet. It is actually up and running, but I haven't customized it one iota. Why? Well, I've been busy. That's all I can say right now.

Wait, that's not all I can say. I can say that I'm going to be on David Lawrence's Online Tonight tonight at 7pm Pacific time. Hope you'll listen.

In regards to the errors, my paid account expired so you now have to reach it at www.livejournal.com/users/meganmorrone or something else with a tilde. I forget.

Don't worry, I have big plans for a new weblog in a new location.

    Stay tuned...

I haven't been too consistent about blogging since I got back from vacation, so I thought if I posted the same entry four times people would forgive me.

We are not moving today. Woe is us. Although it may turn out to be a blessing.

    I miss Taco the rat.

I'm curious if anyone saw me peek my head in front of the camera by accident today during Patrick's megapixels segment. That's actually the first time I've ever done that. Because I get so nervous, my bosses has been telling me for a year and a half to "forget about the cameras." I guess I finally have.

I have not had a good time adjusting to non-vacation life. I got back from the Cape last Wednesday, snuck into the office to read email on Thursday and left for Lake Shasta for Tom's 30th birthday party on Friday. Sixteen of us spent the weekend on The Empress, a funky rented little houseboat. We swam and slept on the top deck in sleeping bags under the stars.

Although I was psyched to see everyone when I got back to work, I haven't quite gotten into the swing of things yet.

The good news is that Misti (my roommate from college) and her husband Barclay came into town late last night. They've been living in London and I haven't seen them in nearly 3 years. The bad news is that I couldn't take any time off from work while they're here because I just took so much vacation.

We're still embroiled in closing on our house. We were supposed to move Aug. 6th, but that may be delayed because the seller turns out to owe the bank and the IRS all kinds of money. Don't ever get yourself into bad debt. It isn't pretty.

Ujournal isn't letting me post, so I guess I'll post today's vacation journal entry here:

We lost one of our number to the evils of work today when Chris headed back to Dallas. Thankfully we managed to take enough family pictures on the beach last night to wallpaper all the walls of our new home. Cole was almost swallowed up by the ocean in the process, but my mom (code name: Mimi) managed to save him.

Marco and went out in the bay on Grandpa's boat this morning. As we were heading out I said, "Grandpa, thanks for taking us out on your boat." He said, "Don't thank me for taking you out. Thank me for taking you back in."

    Tomorrow is my last day
I'm leaving for vacation on Wednesday morning and I won't be back until Monday, July 29th. My whole family is going to Cape Cod to visit my grandfather. We've been planning this trip for nearly a year. You can't imagine how excited I am for this.

    Summer Movies
We went to see The Road to Perdition last night. It's an amazing movie, but I expected nothing less from Sam Mendes. The best thing about the movie is the way Mendes tells a story with so little dialogue. The script was based on a graphic novel. Anyone read it?

Last weekend we went to see The Bourne Identity, which is my favorite action flick of the summer. It was so good, I can only curse in German now.

On the plane to Austin I watched Hedwig and the Angry Inch on my laptop. I really liked it, but I don't think the older woman sitting next to me did. Maybe because I had headphones on and she couldn't hear the sound, or maybe because she doesn't like drag queens. I'll never know.

    No Digibarn for me
It looks like I won't be going to the Digibarn opening after all. I am sad.

    6:59 pm
On Saturday I'm going to the opening of Digibarn, a computer museum on a farm nestled in the Santa Cruz mountains. Nature, super-secret old macs, pigs, and geeks. What more could a girl ask for? I might never leave.

You should come too. To get an invite fill out this form.

Thanks to Bruce for inviting me.

Eddie from El Paso just tipped me off to my new favorite monkey site.

[info]kperez and Christy came to watch The Screen Savers yesterday. I didn't get to talk to either of them much cause it was a crazy day (first day back and all.) But it's always great to meet ya'll in real life. We have some open spots for visitors this week and next. If you're having trouble getting through with the form, then email me. I may be able to expedite the process. Then again, I may not be able to. But, it never hurts to try.

    I need a vacation...
And I'm getting one. I'll be going to Austin for a little reunion with the old gang. Marco went to grad school with Ryan and Steve and they're still in Austin finishing their PHDs. (Marco stopped at his Masters.) And now Ryan's girlfriend (Amy) lives in Austin too. Deryl, Allison, Mike and his girlfriend Amy (different Amy) are flying in from Atlanta. And Liz & Hao are flying in from Boston.

Not that you asked, but Deryl is one of my best friends from high school and Allison is one of my best friends from college. They got reacquainted at our wedding and have been dating ever since.

Ryan has big plans to cook a pig in the ground. When I say "plans" I mean actual plans that he found on the internet.

I miss Austin. Everyone is so friendly there, it makes up for the hot.
